1967 is considered the zenith year of Beetles by many VW enthusiasts, and rightfully so. It was the first year that Bugs were offered with 12V electrical systems and the last year they received chrome towel bar bumpers. Knowing this made it even crummier to hear that a 10-year-old girl named Lisa Tucker had her '67 Beetle stolen. Yes, she's far from legal driving age, but the hardworking young car lover collected and sold scrap metal, took on odd jobs, and saved up all of her birthday and Christmas funds to buy the car for two grand.

Lisa's love of antique rides stems from the fact that her family owns an auto salvage yard, so she's grown up around interesting old cars and even says that she loves the rusted ones. Thankfully, with the help of tips from several community members, the police were able to track down her vintage '67 Beetle, which was found in a rundown carport in Pelzer, S.C. A man was seen running from the scene, most likely the thief, so an arrest is expected to be made soon.

After the car was found, Lisa's parents planned a surprise reunion, telling her that they were going out for food, when they were actually taking her to the site of her recovered vehicle. We imagine she must have been pretty delighted. It's going to be an awesome first car when she turns 16!
