What's New for the 2022 Volkswagen Passat?
The Volkswagen Passat enters its last year of production in the 2022 model year. In honor of the Passat's final production year, Volkswagen decided to add a new Limited Edition trim level to the list of available trim options. The former base model, which is called the S, has also been eliminated from the Passat lineup. The changes mean that you'll get more value with any trim that you choose, and you can now get a premium trim level that piles on all the works with many great new features.
2022 Passat Trims & Features
There are three trims in the lineup for the Volkswagen Passat in the 2022 model year. The first trim level is called the SE and features LED headlights as a standard option. It also has dual-zone climate control on the inside for a comfortable cabin. Remote start is a notable highlight of the SE. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is a welcome creature comfort, and you'll also get satellite radio for the sound system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included for infotainment, and the SE makes cold-weather driving more bearable with heated front seats. Simulated leather upholstery is another plus for the cabin, and there are USB ports in both rows. The R-Line trim has some additional conveniences and fine features. Larger 19-inch alloy wheels are a plus for the R-Line, as well as the Fender sound system as an interior upgrade. The exterior has some unique features for a distinctive look, including R-Line specific badges and a different front bumper design. The Limited Edition is the new top trim level for the Volkswagen Passat in 2022. The Limited Edition has a parking assist system and comfortable seats with a sporty design and a leather finish. A hands-free trunk opening mechanism is also standard.

2022 Volkswagen Passat Horsepower
