The 2021 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is the athletic variant of the popular Jetta. It gives car shoppers in the Phoenix area and beyond a well-designed sedan with exciting capabilities and thoughtful features across its two trim levels. Here are some of the things you can expect for the high-performance sedan.
Standout Performance Capabilities
The primary difference between the 2021 Jetta and the Jetta GLI is found under the hood. The Jetta GLI has been masterfully engineered to maintain excellent fuel economy stats while delivering 228 horsepower. This performance comes from a turbo I-4, 2.0-liter engine connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
Fuel economy is very similar regardless of the transmission you choose. You can expect an estimated 25 mpg city/33 mpg highway for the Jetta GLI equipped with the six-speed manual, while the seven-speed automatic gets an estimated 25 mpg city/32 mpg highway. Like the standard Jetta trim levels, the Jetta GLI trims have front-wheel drive.
Impressive Features
The Jetta GLI is offered in two trims: S and Autobahn. Many of the Jetta GLI's features for the 2021 model year are comparable to those found in the higher-level Jetta trims. The interior is similar to that of the standard Jetta, but with red trimmings. Features on the S trim range from multi-color ambient lighting, heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control to passive entry and push-button start. The Autobahn edition adds on to this with a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster, power-adjustable driver's seat, ventilated front seats, and panoramic sunroof.
The new Volkswagen Jetta GLI goes on sale in Phoenix, AZ in late 2020. If you’re excited to check out its capabilities and features in person, make sure to keep an eye on our inventory and reach out to our sales team for updates.
