2024 Volkswagen Atlas SE vs 2024 Volkswagen Atlas SEL
The sheer size of the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas makes it a prime choice for families with a lot of people and things to bring along for the ride. Volkswagen's unique sense of exterior design and interior spacing also brings many people aboard the Atlas bandwagon. If you're searching for an early trim this year, it pays to compare the SE and SEL trims. As the first two available in the lineup, they're both stylish and affordable to most families.
Performance
The SE and SEL trims both get the model's standard 2.0L engine. This powertrain produces 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque and works alongside an eight-speed automatic transmission. The biggest difference in performance comes from the SEL's standard all-wheel drive, a handy pickup for those who want extra stability in bad weather.
Appearance
The exterior of the VW Atlas SE remains very stylish on the 2024 edition. Its 18" alloy wheels, black roof rails, and heated/foldable power-adjustable side mirrors all join together to deliver great value. The SEL trades in the 18" wheels for 20" alloy wheels, and it adds silver roof rails to the exterior. The SEL also has a big gain thanks to its hands-free Easy Open and Close remote power liftgate. If you want some automated help opening the tailgate, the SEL trim is worth researching.
Features
The SE and SEL are both great bargains for any family in the hunt for a large family SUV. An SE gives families 8-way power-adjustable seats, heated front seats, and perforated V-Tex leatherette seats. It also comes with a 12" touchscreen infotainment system. If you'd like to get even more on your 2024 VW Atlas, the SEL trim adds navigation to its 12" touchscreen infotainment display, offers multi-color adjustable ambient lighting, and adds leather seating in both the first and second rows. These are great additions to families who want more, but the SE also allows buyers to avoid paying for features they might not even want. The Atlas doesn't just offer an attractive SUV interior. It comes with standard safety features to protect its occupants. Adaptive Cruise Control, blind-spot warning, and lane keep all keep the driver confident and aware.
