What's New For the 2020 Volkswagen Golf?
The exterior of the Golf retains the shape it's known for, but it also has some updates. The clusters of the headlights have been connected to the vehicle's grille, and the different shape causes the car to look like it is squinting. Also, the lower grille is wider, and the badge appears larger due to a thinner slit.
The appearance of the headlights and taillights has also changed slightly. The headlights are thinner, as are the taillights. The taillights also have more of an L shape than previous models.
The most significant change is to the interior of the vehicle, however. The layout of the dashboard has been altered. In prior models, the Golf used a gauge cluster. But the 2020 model has dual displays, one of which has a touchscreen infotainment system.
Models with automatic transmissions have been given an electronic gear switch rather than a traditional shifter. There's also a new storage area containing two USB-C ports.

Which Features are Available for 2020?
There are three primary trim levels: the 2.0T S, the 2.0T SE, and the 2.0T Autobahn. Several new and traditional features are available.
The Golf features matrix LED headlights, each of which has twenty-two individual LED bulbs capable of lighting up in a whopping ten different ways. There's also a mobile key, so you can use your smartphone to start the vehicle instead of needing a physical key for the ignition.
The driver's display for the Golf is entirely digital, even in the base trim. The infotainment system has a touchscreen that measures eight inches in the base model and ten inches in the higher trims.
There's also a Travel Assistance system that uses lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control to drive your vehicle for you semi-automatically. The Golf is also compatible with the Amazon Alexa, making your life more convenient. There's also a data-sharing system that will notify you about broken-down vehicles, accidents, and other hazards in advance.
Another nice convenience feature is the three-zone climate control, which is available on the top trim level. In addition to letting you control the temperature in three different areas, you can choose presets so that you wouldn't have to remember settings when warming your hands or wanting to circulate fresh air.
Great Power and Fuel Economy
The Golf's engine options are varied and unique. You can choose from one of five hybrid powertrains, three of which are mild hybrids. The other two are PHEVs.
2020 VW Golf Safety Features
Over 35 million Volkswagen Golfs have been sold worldwide in the last 45 years. Much of this is due to looks, fuel economy and performance. Another factor that keeps Golf on the minds of car buyers is its safety features. When you count in safety features such as Intelligent Crash Response System, Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, lane-keeping assistance, advanced airbags, LED lights, a wide lens rearview camera system, along with incorporating a rigid safety cage, you can see why the Volkswagen Golf continues to remain popular.Â
