The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta received a variety of design and feature updates last year, but that hasn’t stopped VW from augmenting the award-winning sedan once more. Several exciting changes are in store for the 2016 Jetta and we’ve got the details you want to know!

NEW 1.4-LITER TSI
The Jetta’s former 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has been replaced by a more powerful 1.4-liter turbocharged, direct-injected engine that produces 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The engine is now standard on Jetta S and SE trims. The Jetta Sport carries over with the same 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder, which is rated at 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. TDI models also continue on with their clean diesel engine.

JETTA GLI REDESIGN
While other Jetta models received a facelift last year, the GLI was left out of the loop. The performance-focused model, which is the sedan equivalent of the VW Golf GTI, has been redesigned this year instead. It sports an aggressive new look with highlights like chrome-plated exhaust tips, a new diffuser, new fog lights and a GTI-inspired honeycomb grille. The 2016 Jetta GLI also gets sportier suspension tuning and standard features like new all-season tires, 18-inch Mallory wheels and Automatic Post-Collision Braking.

NEW INFOTAINMENT & DRIVER-ASSIST FEATURES
The GLI and other select Jetta models also receive Volkswagen’s new MIB 2 infotainment system featuring Car-Net App-Connect, which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The new system gives owners of compatible smartphones a smarter, safer and more streamlined way to access their phone functions and mobile applications while on route. In addition, the unit includes USB and other audio functions, as well as access to subscription-based remote vehicle services, enhanced navigation and security features.

Driver-assist technologies that formerly debuted on previous VW models have been expanded to the brand’s entire lineup, so features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking are now available on the 2016 Jetta.

The 2016 Volkswagen Jetta will be available at Camelback VW later this year!
