Volkswagen offers the new Atlas in four main trim levels: SE, SE with Technology, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line.
The well-equipped SE trim is a great entry point. Some of its standard technology features include a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and a customizable Digital Cockpit Pro gauge cluster. Creature comforts, such as heated and ventilated front seats and three-zone automatic climate control, add to the SE trim's appeal.
Upgrades, such as a larger 15.0-inch touchscreen and an expanded list of driver-assistance features, come equipped on the SE with Technology trim. Larger 20-inch alloy wheels also promote a bolder stance.
Aggressive R-Line styling cues give the Atlas SEL R-Line an especially sporty appearance. It also receives 30-color ambient interior lighting and Varenna leather seating surfaces.
The top-tier SEL Premium R-Line trim allows you to experience maximum luxury. While its massaging front seats help make long drives especially relaxing, Park Assist Plus takes the hassle out of parking in tight spots. Nappa leather upholstery and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system also come equipped on the SEL Premium R-Line trim.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2027 Atlas Have?
Under the hood sits an overhauled 2.0-liter, turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine. VW rates it at 282 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, taking performance to the next level. This new engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive comes standard, 4Motion all-wheel drive is available for folks who may face wintry conditions or plan to embark on off-road adventures. When fitted with the factory-installed trailer hitch, the Atlas can confidently tow up to 5,000 pounds.
