If you believe in putting safety first, you have something in common with Volkswagen’s engineers. Lots of thought and ingenuity went into developing the latest VW Golf lineup and safety was a primary concern from the start of development. This has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, who recently awarded three Golf models with its highest and most coveted honor - the title of Top Safety Pick Plus.

The 2016 Volkswagen Golf, Golf Sportwagen and Golf GTI, along with the 2016 VW Jetta, have earned the TSP+ title, which means that they not only received excellent scores in IIHS crash tests, but also displayed technologies which demonstrated superior frontal-collision avoidance ability.

All three models are available with VW’s Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking system, the technology that helped each model earn the TSP+ rating. During crash evaluations, the system proved to effectively prevent and/or mitigate frontal collisions.

Using radar sensors and camera monitoring to check the distance of vehicles ahead, Volkswagen’s front-assist system warns drivers when it detects a dangerous situation and, if necessary, can apply the brakes if the driver doesn’t take action to avoid the accident.

In addition to this technology, the Golf, Golf Sportwagen and Golf GTI are also available with several other security features that further exhibit VW’s longstanding commitment to safety, including Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control. Furthermore, all come standard with Automatic Post-Collision Braking.

The 2016 VW Jetta and 2016 VW Golf are on sale in Phoenix now! If you want a safe vehicle, head to Camelback VW to check out one of our award-winning models!
