When an Arizona Bus Club member, Jesus Aguilera, saw news on Facebook about an elderly woman’s 1969 VW bus being vandalized he decided to get his club and the Tucson Mob Squad together to help her get it fixed. The woman, called Ann, had no other transportation and no way to pay for the damage to her beloved Volkswagen.

A neighbor’s surveillance cameras captured video of four boys throwing rocks at the bus, which broke several windows. As if this wasn’t bad enough, the boys returned within the same month, brazenly repeating their crime and smashing nearly all of the remaining windows on the bus. The 75-year-old victim’s VW was left in tatters and was unsafe to drive until Aguilera and others stepped in to help.

The clubs donated thousands of dollars to help Ann get the windows replaced, so she’s able to get around town once again. We’re happy to hear about people pooling together to help others and are sure that Ann is excited to have her ride restored, but last we heard the four individuals who were caught on camera vandalizing the bus have not been caught. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Phoenix police.
