There are no words to describe this distinctive show of school pride. The uniquely customized Volkswagen Beetle pictured above truly represents Alabama Crimson Tide fan devotion. Scroll down to see an up-close photo of this driver's one-of-a-kind VW creation.
Tide supporters are known for their extreme displays of fandom. Some of you may have heard about the crazy Bama football fan who poisoned an ancient 130-year-old oak tree, though that was a bit destructive (and unlawful). This VW, on the other hand, is a non-harmful way to show enthusiasm and I can appreciate that, no matter how far out the customization is.
I'm not sure where this Beetle owner found a large elephant head, but it fits perfectly on top of the car and its body is integrated in an interesting fashion around the side panels and rear. Then on the hood, the car's owner shows off a knack for detail with a fun "Fear the Tide" mural.
The only down side: drive thrus, perhaps? I wonder if the Bug can make it past your average fast-food height clearance bar with an elephant straddled on the roof, but c'est la vie. It must be worth it to show your school pride in such a unique manner.
Now maybe an ASU student will find a cool way to integrate the Sun Devil's mascot on a Volkswagen. Sparky would look great riding on top of a VW Jetta or Golf!
