When the sun sets in the Valley, Ballet Arizona’s talented group of ballerinas and ballerinos will light up the night with beautiful ballet performances, occurring on select dates this September and October. The shows, held in an annual series called Ballet Under the Stars, take place at parks all around the Valley and feature awesome lighting, music, stage setups, costumes and dancing.
The complimentary series has been a delight for residents across the metro area for well over a decade and the tradition continues this year with another fantastic lineup of shows, which include a range of ballet styles - from contemporary to classical. Ballet Under the Stars is appropriate for all ages as well, so if you want to introduce your kids to the fine art of ballet, check out an upcoming performance on one of these dates:
Thursday, September 24 - Beardsley Park, Sun City West
Friday, September 25 - Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater, Goodyear
Saturday, September 26 - Steele Indian School Park, Phoenix
Thursday, October 1 - Tempe Center for the Arts Amphitheater, Tempe
Friday, October 2 - Fountain Park, Fountain Hills
Shows start at 7 p.m. and are open to the public. Make sure to bring along lawn chairs or blankets, as well as water and snacks. While it’s free to watch shows, Ballet Arizona does incur expenses when putting them on. In fact, each performance cost approximately $50,000, so please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Ballet Under the Stars and help continue this cherished annual tradition.
