By the end of May, you can expect temperatures to be on the rise with no signs of letting up until fall comes back around. To escape the heat, you may already be thinking about road trips, and if so, there’s a close place to go that offers a unique and relaxing experience.

Arizona Snowbowl’s Scenic Chairlift is opening over Memorial Day weekend, offering three-passenger lift shuttles that provide a beautiful view of the Sedona red rocks and the cinder cone volcanic field. Even walls of the Grand Canyon can be seen from the heights of the lift. The lifts are open all summer and end around mid-October.

At 11,500 feet in the air, visitors will enjoy a thrilling ride that not only offers incredible views, but also incredible photo-taking opportunities. The ride starts at the eastern side of the San Francisco Peaks and provides a serene experience, in which you can catch a glimpse of wildlife, plant life and other sites.

Arizona Snowbowl’s Scenic Chairlifts are 25 minutes long and they’re offered for a surprisingly affordable price. In addition, visitors can go hiking through several scenic trails, play disc golf and enjoy mountainside dining at the Agassiz Lodge.
