The 2026 Volkswagen ID.4 is VW’s new all-electric SUV. Its impressive driving range, fun-to-drive nature, and spacious design are sure to impress. When shopping for a new ID.4, some people will be choosing between the Pro and Pro S trim levels. Let’s take a look at how these two trims compare.
Performance
Both trims come standard with a single-motor electric powertrain that generates a healthy 282 horsepower. With the optional all-wheel-drive configuration comes a two-motor system, which increases output to 335 horsepower. The extra muscle promotes an especially quick 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds.
While rear-wheel-drive versions of the SUV are rated to tow up to 2,200 pounds, all-wheel-drive variants boast a maximum towing capacity of 2,700 pounds.
Appearance
The ID.4 Pro packs a lot of style for an entry-level trim. Its distinctive front fascia features a diamond-pattern lower grille and signature LED lighting elements. A rear light bar further enhances the SUV’s modern appearance. While a cool set of 19-inch alloy wheels comes standard, upgrading to all-wheel drive and larger 20-inch wheels is available. You can choose from classic colors like Pure White and Deep Black Pearl.
Larger 20-inch wheels come standard on the ID.4 Pro S. It also swaps out the Pro trim’s traditional roof for a stunning panoramic glass roof. Higher-end paint finishes, such as Arctic Blue Metallic and Aurora Red Metallic, are also available.
Features
The entry-level ID.4 Pro is far from a stripped-down base model. It comes loaded with some of today’s hottest technology features. VW’s infotainment system boasts a large 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless App-Connect smartphone integration. Instead of a traditional gauge cluster, the Pro trim provides a customizable digital cockpit display. Other highlights include heated front seats, stain-resistant cloth seating surfaces, a wireless phone charger, and Volkswagen's full IQ.DRIVE driver assistance package.
Volkswagen designed the Pro S trim to offer an even more luxurious drive. You’ll especially enjoy relaxing in the 12-way power-adjustable front seats with built-in massage functions. When traveling on dark roads, adaptive LED headlights enhance safety. Some of the other key upgrades include full V-Tex leatherette upholstery, a hands-free power liftgate, and front-seat ventilation.
