What's New for the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta?

The Jetta is one of the most popular and beloved cars that Volkswagen manufactures. With a new platform, a more powerful engine, and a roomier cabin, the 2019 Jetta is the best Jetta yet. One of the biggest differences between the 2019 model and previous versions is that the 2019 Jetta is built on an MQB platform. This is the same platform used for the Volkswagen Golf, and it makes the 2019 Jetta longer and wider than in past years. Another exciting change in 2019 is that customers can now get the Jetta with a faster, more powerful V8 engine. Technology updates for 2019 include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a driver memory feature that stores each driver's custom settings.

Which New Features Have Come to the Jetta in 2019?

The 2019 Jetta is available in five trims, starting with the base model. The base S model, has a 1.4L engine. It is available with an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The base model has 16-inch alloy wheels and power-operated side mirrors. The base model has several optional safety upgrades, including a driver assistance package. The next model after the SE is the R-Line. The R-Line also offers drivers an eight-speed automatic transmission. It adds to the SE with 17-inch wheels and fog lights. The R-Line has a more sophisticated interior too, with a choice of two-tone leather seats in addition to base cloth seats. The R-Line also has an optional panoramic sunroof. The SEL is the next trim level up. The SEL has all the features of the R-Line plus ambient lighting in the cabin.

The SEL gets an upgraded sound system too, and its cockpit is all digital. As with other models, drivers can get the R-Line with a panoramic sunroof and an eight-speed transmission.
