LEGO sells many car sets, but I can say with confidence that this new Volkswagen Beetle collection is one of the best. The 1,167-piece set will win a piece of your heart with its fun-to-build design and detailed looks that very closely resemble the original Beetle.

The little Bug was meticulously crafted, even sharing some of the features included in actual production models of the 1960’s era Beetle, like an opening trunk that houses a four-cylinder engine, a tilt steering wheel and adjustable seats. Also, while I say little, the LEGO Beetle is actually about 10 inches long and 11 inches in height when the roof rack is placed on top, making it pretty substantial in size.

The car is featured in an iconic azure blue color and comes with fun surfing accessories, so you can dream about traveling to the beach even on weekends when you’re stuck in the Valley heat. A surfboard, cooler, beach towel and other accessories are included, along with VW logo stickers and a miniature pair of license plates.

The set is $99 and it went on sale in August. Look for it at stores and online!
