Meet the All-New 2022 Volkswagen Taos
For the 2022 model year, we're excited to introduce a new member to the Volkswagen SUV family, the Taos. This subcompact crossover brings a stylishly polished exterior with a smooth, composed ride. With a slightly more compact design than the popular Tiguan, the Taos features a winning combination of power, performance, and comfort. High-tech features are a highlight of the Taos, along with exceptional fuel economy and engine efficiency.
The new Volkswagen Taos will go on sale during the summer of 2021.
Volkswagen Taos Features
The VW Taos comes in three trims: S, SE, and SEL. The trims are loaded with an array of standard features like beautiful cloth seats, LED headlights with auto-operation, LED taillights, and a push-button start. Drivers can also enjoy optional conveniences such as wireless integrations with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Volkswagen's Digital Cockpit, two-tone upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen. Those wanting a larger screen can opt for an 8-inch one instead. Other VW Taos options include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and a premium audio system. You can add 18-inch wheel packages on the mid-level SE trim, and the SEL trim level gets 19-inch wheels.Â
Drivers can also enjoy a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and several other options. Taos has plenty of room as the cargo space volume is 66 cubic feet with the rear seats folded and 28 cubic feet when the seats are up.
What's Under the Hood of the VW Taos?
The Volkswagen Taos will deliver power from a new turbocharged engine on all trims. With this engine, the Taos delivers 158 HP and 184 LB-FT of torque. Front-wheel drive models have an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive variants will feature a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Additionally, the VW Taos is specially adapted with several features that enhance its performance and fuel economy, including coated cylinder liners and a map-controlled cooling module that helps warm the engine quickly.
Volkswagen Taos Safety Features
The VW Taos will arrive with the latest safety features. Drivers can look forward to IQ.DRIVE technology available on all trims that includes blind-spot monitoring, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights.
