What's New for the 2026 Volkswagen ID.4?

Although Volkswagen notes that the ID.4 may undergo a refresh later in the year, it is beginning the 2026 model year with just a few minor updates. This year, the Pro S model receives a new mirror, but otherwise the ID.4 carries over unchanged from 2025. Even without changes, the ID.4 remains a popular electric SUV with many standard tech and safety features, a spacious cabin, and a smooth ride.

What Are the 2026 ID.4 Trims & Features?

The 2026 Volkswagen ID.4 is available in five trim levels.

The base model is called the Limited. It starts off with a generous list of features that includes heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, cloth seats with synthetic leather bolsters on the front seats, and a technology package that includes navigation, a seven-speaker audio system, a wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 12-inch touchscreen. The exterior features 19-inch wheels.

Next is the Pro, which has larger 20-inch wheels and a larger battery pack. This trim has a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen and ventilated front seats. You'll also get a trailer hitch and heated windshield if you choose all-wheel drive.

The S Limited follows with more amenities, including LED adaptive headlights, a panoramic glass roof, a hands-free liftgate, synthetic leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, and upgraded ambient cabin lighting.

Next is the Pro S, which adds a new mirror this year. This trim otherwise has all the standard features of the previous trim levels.

Topping the line is the Pro S Plus, which upgrades to 21-inch wheels. Its exterior features a black roof and silver roof rails for a striking appearance, and it also has power-folding side mirrors. Tri-zone climate control is included, and the back seats are heated. This trim upgrades to a Harman Kardon audio system.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2026 ID.4 Have?

The Limited trim level uses a 62-kWh battery and one electric motor that produces up to 282 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive is standard. The Pro trims feature a larger 82-kWh battery and the option of one or two electric motors, increasing power output to 330 horsepower. The Pro S Plus includes the dual-motor configuration.

What Safety Features Does the 2026 ID.4 Include?

The 2026 ID.4 includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic warning, parking sensors, and an automated parking system.
